Education
Membership fee
Dues cover a range of essential costs that contribute to the smooth running of the season for all players. Besides supporting the overall operation of the team, the dues also cover the cost of field rental, training sessions, match menus and other team supplies.
Specifically, the fee includes:
- Player registration fees: These costs are necessary to officially register each player with the
club and the league.
- Match menu: The membership fee covers the cost of the match menu, so that all players can uniformly and
can participate professionally in matches.
- Licences: These are essential for participation in official competitions and events. The licences
also ensure that our players are fully insured during training sessions and matches.
- Participation in official competitions: This includes registration fees for leagues, tournaments and
events in which the team participates.
- Equipment: This covers all extra equipment needed for training and matches, such as balls,
pawns and other training materials.
The membership fee for the upcoming season for the Youth Flag Football team is €250.
Equipment
In flag football for children, equipment is less extensive than in tackle football, but still focused on safety and comfort. Typical equipment for flag football includes:
1. Flag belt: This is the most important equipment and consists of a belt with flags hanging from the sides. The flags are used instead of tackles to stop the ball carrier. We give these to the children to use during training and matches.
2. Bit: A mouth guard is important to protect the players' teeth and mouth.
3. Gloves (optional): These specially designed gloves help catch and hold the ball due to a grip layer. They are not ordinary gloves, but specifically made for flag football. Information on where best to buy these will be provided during training.
4. Kicks: These are essential for good grip on the pitch, enhancing the players' agility and speed.
In addition, competition clothing is provided by the Amsterdam Panthers. Unlike tackle football, flag football does not require a helmet or heavy protective gear as it is a non-contact sport. This equipment ensures that players remain protected while moving freely and performing optimally during the game.
Matches
Our youth players participate in national leagues organised by the American Football Association of the Netherlands (AFBN). These leagues offer children the chance to test and improve their skills against teams from all over the country.
Before the competitions, players receive all the necessary information about the competition venues, travel times and other important details. Although the focus is on national competitions, we ensure that each competition is a valuable and enjoyable experience for our young athletes.
